Itinerary

Day 1 Phnom Penh

Hello and welcome to Phnom Penh, the vibrant capital of Cambodia! Upon your arrival at the airport, you’ll be greeted and transferred to your hotel. Your journey kicks off with a welcome meeting at 6 pm, where you'll have the chance to meet your tour leader and fellow travelers. The hotel reception will provide details on the meeting location. If you arrive early, there are plenty of options to explore—take a leisurely walk to admire the city's stunning French colonial architecture or visit the National Museum to see its impressive collection of classic Khmer art. After the meeting, enjoy dinner at a fantastic restaurant run by Friends International, which offers training and job opportunities to at-risk youth. Delight in a selection of inventive Cambodian-inspired tapas and perhaps end your evening with a cocktail at the Foreign Correspondents' Club.

Day 2 Phnom Penh

Today, your guide will take you on a comprehensive city tour of Phnom Penh. While the private quarters of the Royal Palace, where King Sihamoni resides, are not open to the public, you will have the opportunity to visit the sacred Silver Pagoda within the palace grounds. Your included excursions to the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum and the Killing Fields of Choeung Ek will provide a poignant look into the harrowing history of the Khmer Rouge. There's also an optional visit to Wat Phnom, the temple associated with the city's founding in the 15th century. In the afternoon, you’ll travel to a functioning monastery to gain a unique perspective on monk life and Theravada Buddhism. Here, you’ll meet the monks, receive a sacred water blessing for good fortune and prosperity, and have a red band tied around your wrist for protection on your journey.

Day 3 Siem Reap

After enjoying breakfast this morning, embark on a stylish riverboat journey to Siem Reap. Far removed from the lively pace of Phnom Penh, you’ll glide peacefully along the Tonle Sap River, soaking in the tranquil scenery. This unique river transport offers a rare glimpse into Cambodian rural life, as you pass by serene villages and observe daily activities unfolding on the water. Upon reaching your destination, continue the trip to Siem Reap by road, with several intriguing stops en route. Arrive in the late afternoon and check in at Navutu Dreams Resort & Wellness Retreat, your featured accommodation in Siem Reap. Nestled on the city's serene outskirts, this tropical retreat features three swimming pools and a top-notch restaurant dedicated to wellness. The spacious and bright rooms blend seamlessly with the lush surroundings, each equipped with a veranda, private garden, and rain showers. After settling in, dine at Cambodia’s pioneering farm-to-table restaurant, where you can savor innovative Mekong cuisine crafted by a passionate local chef using organic, on-site ingredients. Spend your evening exploring Siem Reap’s vibrant bars or unwind in the luxurious comfort of your resort.

Day 4 Siem Reap – Angkor Wat

Spend an entire day exploring the awe-inspiring temples of Angkor with your guide. To ensure you capture the essence of these extraordinary ancient sites, you'll also be joined by a private photography coach in the morning, who will help you master the art of capturing that perfect shot. Begin your visit at Angkor Wat, the largest and most intact of the temples, distinguished by its unique west-facing entrance, unlike the other temples which face east. Continue to Angkor Thom, the "Great Royal City," renowned for its impressive stone faces. The highlight of the day is Bayon Temple, famous for its over 200 smiling faces and its more than 50 gothic towers. Your guide will reveal the hidden stories and secrets of these temples. For lunch, head to the Sala Bai Hotel School, where disadvantaged local youth are trained for careers in hospitality. Enjoy a meal prepared by the students. In the afternoon, visit Ta Prohm, where enormous trees are intertwined with the temple’s stone structures, symbolizing the powerful connection between nature and history.

Day 5 Siem Reap – Angkor Wat

Start your day early if you'd like to catch the sunrise over the Angkor complex (this is optional). After watching the sunrise, make your way to Srah Srang Lake, where a delightful private breakfast awaits you. Enjoy a meal amidst the breathtaking scenery, a perfect complement to the picturesque surroundings. Following breakfast, continue your exploration of the Angkor temples. Visit Banteay Srei to capture stunning photos of its elaborate stone carvings. You can either return to the resort or use your Angkor pass to further explore the site and practice your photography skills. The vaulted corridors of Preah Khan are particularly impressive, or you might choose to spend the afternoon discovering the local town. In the evening, savor your final dinner at a local restaurant offering delicious regional dishes.

Day 6 Siem Reap

Your journey concludes after breakfast this morning. If you wish to extend your stay in Siem Reap, additional accommodation can be arranged in advance, depending on availability.
