Itinerary

Day 1 Cycle the Angkor Temples

Begin your day with a pickup from the hotel or a meeting at our bike depot, where you'll receive a bike fitting and safety briefing. Your biking adventure will start with a morning exploration of some of the most renowned temples, while avoiding the crowds. The first stop is Ta Prohm, renowned for its dramatic overgrowth of jungle trees and vines, leaving parts of the temple in a state of picturesque decay. Known as the Tomb Raider Temple from its appearance in the film, Ta Prohm is one of the most visually striking temples in the Angkor complex.

Next, cycle to the ancient city of Angkor Thom, entering through the grand stone gate adorned with carvings of elephants and four massive faces. Continue to Bayon Temple, located in the heart of the city, celebrated for its enigmatic faces symbolizing the 54 provinces of the Great Khmer Empire. Be sure to visit the Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King, both famous for their elaborate bas-reliefs.

Pause for lunch at a local restaurant, savoring delicious Cambodian cuisine. In the afternoon, bike to Angkor Wat, the crown jewel of the Angkor complex. Guided by your tour leader, you'll delve into the rich history and symbolism of this remarkable ancient temple before returning to your hotel.

Day 2 Pedal to Banteay Srei & Kbal Spean

Today’s bike tour will take us along unpaved roads through charming rural villages. We’ll start by cycling on a flat route for approximately 7 km to the Banteay Samre temple. From there, we’ll continue on unpaved paths, passing through picturesque villages and rice fields, before reaching Banteay Srei. This temple, made from pink sandstone, is located outside the main temple city.

The roads to Banteay Srei are tranquil, narrow, and scenic, offering beautiful countryside views as you ride past local markets, schools, villages, and Buddhist temples. We’ll take a water break under the shade of a tree before arriving at Banteay Srei, also known as the Citadel of Women. This red sandstone temple is renowned for its exquisite carvings, which have been exceptionally well-preserved.

After enjoying lunch at the base of the mountain, we’ll take a short transfer to Kbal Spean. From there, trek uphill for 3 km through the jungle to reach the waterfall and the River of a Thousand Lingas. Marvel at the carvings on the riverbed and waterfall before returning to Siem Reap by transfer.

Day 3 Bike & boat tour to the floating village

This morning, we'll set off on a journey through the backroads of Siem Reap to the historic Roulous Group, the site of the former Angkor city. This area was once the heart of Khmer civilization and was established by an Angkorian king in the 8th century. We'll explore the three principal temples here: Lolei, Preah Ko, and Bakong.

Lunch will be enjoyed at a local residence before we continue for another 12 km to Tonle Sap Lake. There, we’ll embark on a short boat ride to Kampong Phluk to see the floating villages and gain insight into the life on the water.

Tonle Sap Lake is the largest lake in Southeast Asia and is recognized as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. It plays a crucial role in supporting agriculture across several provinces throughout the year. During the rainy season, the lake acts as a massive reservoir, with its waters eventually flowing into the Mekong River and down to the China Sea.

On the way back to Siem Reap, we’ll travel along a peaceful backroad, passing numerous stilted houses and pagodas, making for a pleasant end to our day.

Upon returning to Siem Reap city, we’ll transfer you to the airport to conclude the tour. If you’d like to extend your stay in Siem Reap, we’d be delighted to arrange additional accommodations for you.
